She's getting too big!

I always enjoy watching my kids grow, but it also makes me sad to see.
If I could, I would keep Kayla small since she is my last, but I know it doesn't work that way. Today when she offered prayers she said "Our Heavenly Father and OUR house." It used to be WE not our. When did she learn to say it correctly? I would have been fine sending her off to college saying it grammatically incorrect because it was so cute!

Pouring

As Kayla would say "It is POURING" even a little sprinkle is described this way.
It's a little gloomy outside and all our lights are on. (So much for our attempts to conserve energy.) They're not on because we can't see; they are on because Kayla is TERRIFIED of spiders.
We came home from church today to a HUGE, I'm not exaggerating, spider climbing up our back curtains, I was afraid to kill it. Jordon did offer to rescue me, but it was too late I had already administered the first fatal squish.
No matter how much I tried to comfort Kayla, telling her over and over again that the spider was dead and not to worry she still let out a shrill scream when she saw anything on the floor; a shadow, lint, or Jasper's hair. It didn't move but she would still scream. I do hope this paranoia of bugs passes soon. She's even afraid of flies.

Interesting

Jordon asked me last week why I have not written about him on my blog. I told him he just isn't interesting. Right now in fact he is very boring. He can't teach padwons as a Jedi master in his Jedi club. He can't play his DS or the Wii. He can't play soccer, basketball or even tag if he wanted. He is very boring and very bored as he reminds me as often as possible!

This is why

Not serious, but not in a cast yet.

Saturday night he was rollerblading downstairs and fell. Jaron took him to Instacare Sunday morning and lo and behold it is broken.

The irony: About a week ago my cousin's son broke his wrist and as we talked about how her son is such a boy; and as she mentioned that the majority of the children in the doctors waiting room with broken bones were also boys; I thought in the back of my head how it was Makylle and not Jordon in our house who has had the broken bone. To further the irony, Saturday was April 18th, Makylle broke her wrist last year...April 18th.

Next year do not be surprised if on April 18th our kids are sitting on the couch doing nothing interesting at all. Jaron has even suggested bubble wrap!

Terrible twos...Ha!

I have meant to post Kayla's birthday for the past week. She is now three and she will not let anyone forget it. Most of her sentences end with "because I'm three."
"I'm going to have a sandwich for lunch, because I'm three"
Her birthday was a lot of fun. I didn't think she would understand the whole "in charge on your birthday" thing that we do, but she sure did. She was very bossy to her brother and sister (more than usual I should say) and when I told her it was nap time she simply stated "I'm not tired, it's my birthday." However by the time two o'clock rolled around she said "I'm tired. I'm going to sleep."
I don't know why the saying is "terrible twos" I have always thought threes are worse! So far this week with my three year old has shown my theory to be true.
For Kayla it is not terrible though. She is generally very pleasant, even tempered and good. This week I have heard "no mother", with a roll of the eyes more often than I did all last year I think. (She only calls me "mother" when she's mad, makes me laugh.) Jaron has given her the nickname "spit-fire", she does a very exaggerated "foo" sound when she's angry. Jaron will say "O.K. spit-fire" to her and she will be so much madder and yell "I'm not spit-fire" which results in everyone laughing, Kayla also, and her mood is changed just like that.
She's our caboose and it makes me sad to see her grow. She has such a fun personality. What she comes up with, what she says and what she does, she's just fun! We are grateful to have her with us. We love you Kayla bug!

T-shirts, shorts and sunburns

We had the opportunity to go down to St. George for a couple of days and enjoy much warmer weather. We left with it snowing here and watched as it slowly showed warmer weather on our car thermometer.

Kayla actually got into the water and loved it! She has always cried in the past. It looks like this year we have over come another growing obsticle!

This is the Dinosaur Discovery. It was interesting and boring at the same time. They have found various dinosaur tracks from a lake that dried up millions of years ago. The most interesting thing to me is the different layers of tracks are separated so perfectly that they are able to pull a layer of rock up and underneath is a negative and positive imprint of the dinosaurs tracks. The boring part is it is the same thing all the way through the little building. Just dinosaur tracks on rocks! The kids enjoyed the outside sandbox that they could dig for tracks. That's where we spent most of our time there.

We also visited the Temple and Brigham Young's winter home where the kids collected pecans. It was a fun day in the sun followed by lots of swimming and a drive home the next day in a snow storm. Today is nice and warm here and I hope it only continues! Sorry I still haven't figured out the picture thing obviously, the layout is not how I wanted it!

Makylle's Baptism

Makylle has been talking about this day for a long time now. She smiled so big and bright all day long! It was a wonderful day, she was so excited. After Jaron put her in the water she jumped up grinning from ear to ear. She truly is a special spirit and I hope she continues to see the world and others through the loving eyes Heavenly Father has blessed her with!

The Princess and the Wicked Witch

As I was making Kayla's lunch today I told her to get into the fridge and choose an apple. She pulled one out and asked "Is this one poisoned?" I chuckled and reassured her that no it was not poisoned to which she responded "Because the witch poisons princesses apples."
My Princess!

Crazy Eights

It seems in my life that every day is the same but when we are busy we are busy. We had one of those weekends. I wish I could figure out how to do my pictures, maybe someday!
Saturday was Makylle's eighth birthday and we had a weekend full of fun.

Friday she had a friend party, fifteen girls for two hours. Jaron thought he could hide in our room but I needed help so he stepped up. He even helped some girls make bracelets.
We started the night with pizza, expecting the girls to eat more we over bought so I am still eating leftover pizza today (like I need it, but I'm not complaining) Makylle wanted to make doorknob hangers out of foam so that was our next activitity and then all the girls made bracelets. We opened presents and had cake and icecream. All and all the night was nice with no catastophes and a deep breath when it was all done.

During the party Grandma and Grandpa took Kayla to Build a Bear for her birthday which is next week. She made the cutest pink monkey and named it Chi Chi (I had a monkey named Chee Chee when I was a kid that went everywhere with me, so thanks to my mom Chi Chi is alive and well again, just pink) I have to laugh at Kayla, she has such an imagination it truly cracks me up all day. Anyway, I have never seen a toy go potty so often and even have an accident that she had to clean up. I asked my mom why she chose a poopy monkey for my daughter! The monkey is now potty trained and goes everywhere with us, sleeps with Kayla and has to be dressed and hair done and jacket on because it is cold and the list goes on and on. It has been fun.
On Saturday it was Makylle's birthday so she was in charge. We had pancakes for breakfast and went to the park for lunch. It seemed like a good idea however it was so windy we had to hold our lunch down and it did not help that my allergies have decided to make an appearance. Makylle had fun and that was the point. We came home watched High School Musical 3 that she just got that day. She chose breakfast for dinner (hashbrowns, sausage and eggs) and a cream pie for dessert (yummy). We played Monopoly Jr. that she received from a friend. Makylle lost and I won. Jaron had to rub it in that I could not let her win on her birthday and I had to remind him he was second just 6 dollars behind me.
We had a fun weekend and I can't believe my girl is eight! It went by so fast! We love her tremendously and are very grateful to have her in our lives.

Not right now

One of Kayla's favorite things to play is mommy. She will be mommy and I am Kayla. Today while she was mommy and I was Kayla this is how our conversation went.
Kayla "Kayla ask me a question."
Me "O.K., what question"
Kayla "Mommy will you play with me?"
Me "Mommy will you play with me?"
Kayla "Not right now, later"
Did that ever make me feel bad. So today instead of the little time I would have spent with her I played with her all morning until nap time. We played littlest petshops, mommy and Kayla (of course) and princesses. For a good part of the day I was Belle and she was Cinderella, she never forgot to call me Belle and she made sure to correct me if I called her Kayla by accident (which I did quite a bit.)
It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately nothing really got done today so tomorrow she will hear the A-typical response "not right now, later"

Anyone out there?

I got this from Marian (thanks) and thought it would be a fun way to start blogging. I of course don't have any followers or my friend list set up, but anyone I know out there who finds me I will be so happy to do this for you.

So, here's how it works: the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year a handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well. Before you leave your comment, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going (or copy and paste like I did). Then come back, let me know you're going to play and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift! Come and play!

Just Starting

I am going to try this blog world. Not making any promises!!!
